The Cayman Islands is a group of three islands in the Caribbean Sea and situated approximately 500 miles (800km) due south of Miami, Florida. Discovered on May 10th, 1503 by Christopher Columbus on his 4rd and final voyage to the "new world", it is home to approximately 55,000 people. Over the years the Islands were settled, and in the past 30 years have experienced tremendous development to become one of the leading financial centres in the world.
